Animal Crossing: Wild World help!?

I have Animal Crossing for the DS and um... (don't know where to start.) Okay this lady who sells turnips and is friends with Tom Nook, convinced me to buy 20 white turnips from her, each 109 bells. So I want to sell them to Tom on Saturday. Now take note, I have never planted any turnips or flowers before and I've been on the game for years. So how do I plant a turnip? I tried burying it, but it just came as a star like when you're meant to dig something up. I also tried throwing it on the ground and it didn't work. So my main point here is: "How do you plant a white turnip!?"

You can only plant the red turnip, the white turnips Tom Nook will have a different price for two times a day once in the morning and once in the after noon. Go to him everyday 2 times a day and when the price is higher then what you paid for them sell them. Sometimes the price is never higher. It's just pot luck really.



Also if you bought a red turnip seed you have to water it everyday not sure if it's once or twice or it won't grow.
