Besides Church, Chapel, or place of relgious worship, where do you feel closest to God/Creator?

For me after a Catholic church or chapel the next place I feel more close to God and find more prayerful is a local nature trail that I love to walk. There is a canopy of trees covering it and sweet purple flowers and golden honeysuckles hanging down and scenting the air along with wild roses growing along the way. Where do you find yourself closest to God?

Peace Be With You,

Debra

I feel very close to God any time I'm near the sea. I also have a forest shrine that I go to. And watching meteor showers is a spiritual experience for me.
Reply:I think if I did go into Church as worship, it would be the Catholic Church. I felt the most comfortable there as opposed to the other places of worship (buildings) that I have had the privilege of visiting. But where I feel closes to my Deity/Creator is out in nature. All the beauty that we share was gifted to us and sometimes I think people forget that.

Peace be with you as well.
Reply:On my knees at three in the morning reciting the Divine Mercy Praises,

But I know what you mean about the nature trail, being a gardener by trade I too love the peace of a well kept garden and the birds etc, Pax Vobiscum from Raphael.
Reply:"The closest I've ever BEEN to GOD, was in my closet, of my

single-bachelor 'flat', in Downtown Los Angeles; 'Skid Row',

on the early morning of, 7 September 2006, before sunrise."
Reply:Outside in the farthest part of our property when you can hear the birds and the trees in the wind without the noise of the cars about a 1/4 mile away. That is where I find God, other than being in Church.
Reply:During a violent thunderstorm.

Thunderstorms always remind me of God.

I can't really explain or elaborate. It just always reminds me of

God's power over humans and that we are not really as important as we think we are sometimes and are dependant on something greater.
Reply:Out back in my hammock near my prayer garden... looking up at the sky through the tree-tops and listening to all of the birds sing.

Great place to pray or just be still and try to listen to His small, still voice.

Peace,
