Texas wildflowers?

It is illegal to pick wild Bluebonnets in Texas. The reason is because they believe the Bluebonnets should be left for everyone to enjoy. My initial thought is that picking a few won't hinder anyone's enjoyment of them, but being the state flower, I can see how such a law came to be.

What do you think about this?

Just as a note, I think the Indian Paintbrushes are prettier.

Texas wildflowers?
they dont want you to pick them because of the seed production, they seed after they flower and if you pick them the future seed pods on that plant are in jeopardy and will not produce, thats why some areas decline each year
Reply:It's legal to pick them on private property. Illegal to grab the ones you see along the highway.

I like paintbrush better too, as well as turtle bloom, larkspur, penstemmon that grow wild in TayHas.
Reply:i think they are both pretty...

and also, i believe if you grow them in your yard, you can pick them...

or you can do it like i do and pick them secretly..hehe
Reply:shouldn't you be saving the world or something?
