Oberon is telling Puck to make a potion from the ingredients of the first four lines and pour it into the eyes of Demetrius (man in Athenian garments) in the moment before he sees Helena again. This way he'll hate his love Helena which is what Oberon wants.



Earlier in the act Oberon is having Puck fetch a love flower to pour into Titania's eyes so that she'll fall in love with the first thing she sees.



You did read the play and what led up to this right? Think about this: Oberon and Titania are the married king and queen of the faeries. Talk about a dysfunctional relationship if Oberon is pulling what amounts to a practical joke on his wife! The whole play is engaging and very funny!
