Animal Crossing Wild World DS question?

Ok, a few weeks ago, a weird looking flower thing grew from the groung next to my town hall. It is big, and red with a yellow center. I tried watering it and digging it up, but nothing happens. What is it, and what can i do with it? Also, does anybody know what time th epelican flies across the sky and you can shoot him down with a slingshot?

the red flower is bad and is a sign that your town is unclean (pull some weeds) the pelican is just the mailman and it comes in the morning and you cant shoot it
Reply:Oh man I got that thing. What a pain in the ***! You have to get rid of all the weeds in your town. ALL of them. It takes a while, but it will eventually go away.

Reply:Yeah...basiccly the same as everyone else. The flower shows your town is dirty. Pull out SOME not all Some weeds and it'll go. The pelican can be shot down. I did once. He stays on the floor until you go up to him. He then says something like hi i'm the mailman, please don't shhot me again. Now if you'll excuse me, i need to deliver theese letters. You can spot him at the Cafe in the museum sometimes.
Reply:the flower will go when you remove all weeds it only comes to your town if you have too many weeds also the pelican i think is the postman you should be able to shoot him down i hear he comes to your town at specific times so you might want to remember what times you see him at so you can find him again

Reply:Try pressing B to pull it out of the ground or running through it a few times. That should kill it. That trick kills everything else when you do it, even accidently. I think its a dandolin. If it is white, then it is a jacobs ladder which means you have a perfect town. you can ussually pick both of those flowers up. The pelican is pete, the mailman. he flys across around 9am and 5pm, when mail is delivered. you can shoot him out of the sky. he usually just talks to you, ad might get annoyed if you do it heaps. he doesn't gave you any gifts unlike gulliver (who is in the UFO).
